Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, I spent my early teens in Tucson, Arizona. After losing my father in my mid-teens, my mother moved us to Wisconsin to be close to family. Since then, I’ve raised three beautiful daughters and a son and have been blessed with eight grandchildren and are anxiously awaiting our first great-grand child due in December.   I’ve been married to David, with the most caring man I’ve ever known for the last 30 years. Both my husband and I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for almost 20 years. We enjoy camping, canoeing, and kayaking and in our younger days, enjoyed backpacking and hiking. We currently share our home with three cats and two dogs and care for a feral cat colony in central Wisconsin.

My life as an animal care giver began in 1987 when I started working at Bristol Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant for a wonderful man, Dr. Waldo.  After Dr. Waldo’s retirement, I remained on staff at Bristol Animal Hospital with Dr. Murphy until 1997 when my husband and I relocated to Elkhorn.

Shortly after moving to Elkhorn,  I served as a Kennel Attendant at Lakeland Animal Shelter where I remained for 21 years, 17 of which I spent as Medical Coordinator. I was responsible for vaccinations, heartworm testing, feline leukemia/FIV testing, fecal exams, and the daily medical needs of all resident animals. I met Dr. Miller in 2000 while assisting her during spay and neuter surgeries at Lakeland Animal Shelter.  With her caring nature she soon became my closest friend. In September of 2018, Dr. Miller invited me to follow my heart and come join the team at Creature Comforts Veterinary.
